Massage can benefit everyone regardless of age, body size, gender, or level of fitness.
It's important that you feel secure and confident about your massage treatment, whether it will be your first experience or you are a massage connoisseur. I want you to feel safe, happy and comfortable. You are always in control and get to decide what is right for you.
The atmosphere of the treatment room is calm and quiet. Your privacy will always be respected and during the treatment you will be draped so that only the portion of the body being treated will be uncovered. You will never be asked to undress beyond your level of comfort and you will always have the right to accept or refuse treatment. I will work with your level of comfort and pain tolerance and the treatment can be stopped at any time should it become uncomfortable.
When your appointment starts, you and your therapist will discuss the reasons for your massage and what you’d like to accomplish. Your therapist will also do an assessment: asking you to do certain movements to understand your pain or injury and to plan your treatment.
In most cases, this assessment will take 5-10 minutes of your appointment time. The remaining appointment time will be spent on the massage, and on any recommendations for remedial exercise.
Remedial exercise or self-care recommendations will take a few minutes at the end of your session, if required.
Your Massage Therapist must also obtain your consent to work on any part of your body, regardless of whether you are fully clothed, or fully or partially covered with sheets or blankets.
If you are late for a scheduled session, I may not be able to provide you with the full length of your session. My sessions are set to start and end on time to allow my clients to plan accordingly.
I ask that you arrive early to ensure that you receive the optimal benefits of your entire treatment time.
I do my best to be ready for my clients when they arrive, but at times a session may be unexpectedly extended. In that rare case, you WILL receive the full length of your session.
If any behaviour is considered inappropriate the session will be terminated immediately and payment must be made in full.
I reserve the right to end the session if I feel a client's behaviour or conduct is inappropriate.
I also reserve the right to terminate a session for medical reasons, including discovering that the client has taken drugs, chemicals or medications that are contraindications to massage therapy.
